Over the course of two engaging training sessions, a total of 14 delegates took part in a specialist programme led by Alan Fairclough, offering trauma training for Avanti. Each session was tailored to different roles within the organisation, providing targeted insights and strategies to enhance their approach.

Day One: Empowering Driver Managers

The first session welcomed driver managers—professionals responsible for diffusing drivers in the cab after a collision. With their role being hands-on and immediate, they found the content highly relevant, directly applicable to their day-to-day responsibilities. Alan provided practical tools and structured guidance, reinforcing the importance of emotional intelligence in critical situations.

Day Two: Engaging Driver Operations Managers

The second session focused on driver operations managers, who work in office-based roles with strong HR and communication elements. Unlike their driver manager counterparts, they typically follow established procedures. Encouraging them to rethink their approach required more effort, but their feedback highlighted valuable takeaways.

Despite the challenge, the session generated positive reflections, with 4 out of 6 delegates rating their satisfaction as ‘very satisfied’ or ‘satisfied.’
